What is Living By Design?
Living By Design is a guided workshop that helps you discover who God uniquely created you to be—your wiring, personality, dreams, and core values—so that you can live your life with greater clarity, deeper purpose and true alignment in your God-given identity.
Who is this for?
Rooted in biblical truth, this workshop is for anyone who wants to live less on autopilot and live more intentionally in relationship and partnership with God. Whether you’re feeling lost, stuck, burned out, in transition, or simply craving more clarity about your true identity, then this is especially for you. The workshop creates space to listen to God, understand yourself better, and walk away with practical direction and renewed peace.
Do I need to be in a specific stage of life to benefit from this?
No. Whether you’re a teenager, in your 20s, or over 60, deciding what direction to go in life, in a career shift, navigating marriage and/or parenting, in a season-of-life transition, or just hungry for clarity, this workshop meets you where you are. Many find it deeply healing, freeing and clarifying.
What will we actually do during the workshop?
You’ll engage with guided teaching, personal discovery tools, prayerful reflection, and meaningful conversations—all designed to help you see your life (and other’s lives) through God’s eyes, and then connect who He made you to be with how you live each day. It’s both deeply personal and highly interactive
How long is the workshop?
The workshop is an extended weekend experience spread over four sessions: Thursday night (6:30–9:30pm), Friday night (6:30–9:30pm), Saturday morning (8:30am–1:00pm), and Sunday afternoon (1:30–6:00pm).
You’ll receive a full schedule and all the details after registering.
Is there homework or preparation required?
There’s no formal homework, but you’ll likely find yourself reflecting and jotting down insights throughout the weekend, and beyond—new questions, discoveries, and ‘a-ha’ moments often continue even outside the sessions. We recommend coming with a willing, open heart.
Start now by asking God to prepare you—to help you hear His voice and experience Him in fresh and meaningful ways. Come with anticipation! This is a space where clarity and transformation happen.
How much does it cost?
Thanks to New Hope, all attendees can take advantage of a special discounted rate of $125 per person for the Living By Design workshop.
You can choose to:
Pay in full at registration, or
Split the cost into 3 monthly payments of $45
Your registration includes:
✔️ Full workshop experience
✔️ Printed workbook and all needed materials
✔️ Access to the Living By Design team throughout the weekend
✔️ Lite snacks and drinks throughout the weekend
Can I bring a friend, spouse, and/or invite someone from outside of New Hope?
Absolutely! You will discover that this is a powerful experience to share with someone close to you.
The workshop is open to anyone seeking clarity, growth, and personal transformation—no matter where they worship. Just be sure each person registers individually.
Is childcare provided?
Childcare is not currently provided, but we recognize how important this is for many families and are actively working on a solution. If we’re able to offer childcare, it will likely be available for some parts of the weekend—not all sessions—and parents may be asked to help cover a portion of the cost. We’ll keep you updated as plans develop.
Is this really necessary if I already know who I am in Christ?
Yes. Knowing your identity in Christ is the foundation—but this process helps you understand how He uniquely designed you. It connects spiritual identity with practical personal design so you can walk in your purpose with confidence and clarity.

Why is it so important to understand my “being” before I focus on what I “do”?
Because when we let our roles or performance define us, we’re constantly shifting, striving, and living in insecurity. But when you know who you are (how you’re made) and Whose you are, you can live and make decisions from a grounded, authentic place. It’s the difference between reacting to life and living it with intention.
How will this actually change my daily life?
You’ll gain a more accurate paradigm and practical clarity about how to make decisions, set boundaries, choose meaningful work, and engage relationships that align with your design. It's not just inspiration—it's a shift in how you live and choose.
How is this different from a personality test or strengths assessment?
This workshop goes deeper than just data. It helps you connect the dots between your wiring, values, faith, and purpose—and gives you a framework for applying that understanding to real life.
What if I already know my personality type? Will this still be helpful?
Yes! This isn’t about labeling you. It’s about integrating that knowledge with your core values, spiritual gifts, life patterns, relationships, and current season to help you live with deeper congruency and clarity.
What if I’m in a season of confusion, burnout, or transition?
Perfect. This process helps you reset your focus, rediscover what matters, and realign your life with God’s heart for you and who you really are—not just what’s expected of you.
Will this help me figure out what to do next?
Yes—but not by giving you typical answers. Instead, it equips you to ask better questions, make wise decisions, and move forward in ways that match your true design.
Why is this worth investing in?
Because living disconnected from your design is endlessly frustrating and exhausting. And living in alignment with who God made you to be is incredibly freeing! This workshop helps you stop wasting energy on unhealthy mindsets and paths that don’t fit—and start building a life of deep meaning, clarity, purpose, and peace.
Where did Living By Design come from?
Living By Design has a long and proven history. Originally developed in the 1980s, it has been refined and adapted over the decades for a wide range of settings—from coach certification programs to churches, nonprofits, and even high schools. Its content has been used around the world, with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds and countries, demonstrating its relevance and impact far beyond the U.S. Whether in a classroom, a leadership cohort, or a personal development setting, Living By Design continues to help people live more intentionally with purpose and freedom.
