Do you have a hurt, habit, or hang-up that either gets you into trouble or hinders your life in some way? We all do. The truth is, you may not even know what it is yet.
What CR has done for me
“Celebrate Recovery has taken the shell of a person I once was, devoid of emotion from all my past hurts, and shown me how to overcome those hurts. I was lost and alone but feel loved and free as I walked with Christ and learned through CR the steps to freedom. Thank you God for showing me the way out of my past and into a future bright with you and a community accepting and loving of me.”-Cheryl
Greetings, beloved members of our church family,
I am writing to share a glimpse of my transformative journey through Celebrate Recovery, a ministry that has been a profound source of healing and restoration in my life.
Before I found my way to Celebrate Recovery, my existence was marred by the haunting echoes of abandonment. The seeds of rejection were planted deep within my soul, as both of my biological parents left an indelible mark on my life. The pain of abandonment manifested in various ways, leading me down a path of brokenness and despair.
As a survivor of childhood sexual molestation, I carried the weight of a heavy burden that seemed impossible to shake. The scars of this trauma, coupled with a relentless porn addiction, created a cycle of shame and guilt that left me feeling trapped and isolated. Additionally, nicotine addiction, depression, and codependency further entangled me in a web of self-destructive behaviors.
Enter Celebrate Recovery—a ministry that became a beacon of hope and healing in my life. Through the power of God working in and through this community, I began to confront the deep-seated wounds of abandonment and rejection. The love and acceptance I found within Celebrate Recovery provided a safe space to share my pain and take the first steps toward healing.
God's transformative work in my life through Celebrate Recovery was nothing short of miraculous. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, I experienced freedom from the chains of nicotine and pornography addiction. The heavy burden of depression began to lift as I surrendered my struggles to the One who could truly bring lasting peace.
In facing and dealing with my codependency tendencies, I discovered healthy ways to relate to others and build meaningful connections. Celebrate Recovery became a community of support and encouragement, guiding me toward a life of wholeness and purpose.
Today, I stand before you as a testimony to the redeeming power of God and the incredible impact of Celebrate Recovery. My journey from brokenness to wholeness is a testament to the life-changing work this ministry facilitates.
If you or someone you know is grappling with hurts, hang-ups, or habits, I encourage you to consider the transformative journey of Celebrate Recovery. It is a place where brokenness is met with compassion, and healing is found through the love of Christ.
May we continue to be a church family that embraces the broken, walks alongside the hurting, and celebrates the recovery that is possible through the grace of our Lord.
Blessings,
Robert Salgado

The Road to Recovery Based on the Beatitudes
Realize I’m not God; I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. (Step 1)
“Happy are those who know that they are spiritually poor.” Matthew 5:3a TEV
Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover. (Step 2)

Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. (Step 3)
“Happy are the meek.” Matthew 5:5a TEV
Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. (Steps 4 and 5)

Voluntarily submit to any and all changes God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects. (Steps 6 and 7)
“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires” Matthew 5:6a TEV
Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Steps 8 and 9)
“Happy are the merciful.” Matthew 5:7a TEV; “Happy are the peacemakers” Matthew 5:9 TEV
Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will. (Steps 10 and 11)
Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and my words. (Step 12)
“Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.” Matthew 5:10 TEV
Prayer for Serenity
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
